Hansol’s Technical Research Unit (TRU) is a small but very active group in the Company. It utilises human-centric, design-based approach to help Nigerian Organizations – multinationals, Governments, SME – to build new capabilities.

The initial area of expertise was human capacity development with broad interest in training and curricula development, job satisfaction survey, human resources management, competency assessment and development schemes.

More recently, Hansol’s TRU has broadened its research activities to include a wide range of topics such as:

• Emerging technologies in renewable energy utilization.
• CSEM - Potential paradigm shift in oil and gas exploration.
• Water: unlimited sources, unlimited resources
• Education, Skills and Knowledge beyond and beside Universities.
• Area boys syndrome: turning communal threat to collective strength

Many of the investigations carried out in the TRU involve close collaboration with players in various industrial and corporate sectors, both in Nigeria and oversea. This gives ‘added value’ of a global dimension to a number of contemporary issues we research on.

Our research products and deliverables include empirical data, conceptual models, theoretical insights and implementation frameworks that are used in policy development, execution and evaluation.
